One of the most underappreciated bands ever played in the Melkweg last week.
Mother's Finest has rocked stages since the 70s, but somehow never made it real big. One of the few bands with both black and white members, their mix of funk and rock somehow was too funky for white audiences and too rockin' for black people.
Even now they still have one of the best live shows I've ever seen. Singers Joyce Kennedy and Glenn Murdock know how to play with the audience, while their band plays some of the funkiest hardrock.
Great show!
