Together with my girlfriend and her father I went to see Danko Jones playing at the Melkweg last Thursday. It was the 8th time I saw Danko Jones live, and he still manages to impress me.
As always he managed to get the crowd going from the beginning. Danko is not just a rocker, he's an entertainer. Dan Cornelius, the new drummer was just as good as Damon, but somehow Damon makes drumming look cooler.
I'm not sure how long he can end his show with the Mountain. It's a great song, with a great message, but I had the feeling the audience didn't respond as much to it as the first times I heard him play it. Otherwise they had a great set list, I did miss some of my favorites from 'We sweat blood', but the new songs from 'Sleep is the enemy' certainly made up for it.
There's really not much to say about the show. You just have to see Danko Jones yourself.

Maar Aimée was was ziekjes, en de mp3s van de site van QYD waren vrij suf, dus dat hebben we geskipped.

March 28th, 2006 | 11:08quit your dayjob is juist geniaal, heb ze gezien op lowlands en het was echt tegek. op cd zijn ze wel dufjes maar als je ze een keer live hebt gezien kan je er beter naar luisteren

April 2nd, 2006 | 15:59Ja, Danko noemde hem nog wel, maar omdat ie zelf dus in later dit jaar in de Melkweg staat stond ie nu dus niet in het voorprogramma.
Danko droeg ook nog een liedje op aan Dregen en nog een gast van de Backyard Babies, want die waren er ook die avond. Ik heb ze zelf niet gezien.
